Second book finished on my Summer Vacation ‘to-read-list’. Insane, entertaining, quirky, witty, clever and original don’t even begin to cut it, when I go to describe this interestingly structured YA novel by @patricknessbooks. The fantasy trope partners well with a coming of age story. At times I was reminded of the Buffy-verse (my first love for the fantasy realm). Definitely a read for those who like something out of the ordinary. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s taken me longer to finish reading this book than usual , but I’ve finished it and am oddly satisfied. By no means was this novel what I expected it to be, and quite honestly I’m baffled by some of the narrational choices. However, if your interested in YA Fiction with a hint of Fantasy spliced with a memoir styled storytelling, then I’d suggest reading ‘The strange and beautiful sorrows of Ana Lavender’ by Leslye Walton. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #leslyewalton #lovemakesusfools #youngadultbooks #review
