Lament – Noun

“A song or hymn of mourning composed or performed as a memorial to a dead person”

Mascara drips down my face,

nine-inch heels in my hands,

wallet empty,

soul shattered.

What a waste

what a waste

what a waste.

These tears were not planned.

Yet here I am

a mess of despair

and cheap Moscato.

New Years Eve

another one unkissed.

I lament,

white girl wasted,

to the lyrics of

“Someone like you.”

Adele healing my wounds

for now.
