The swarm surged.

Lashing forwards,

A wave of

Anger,

Hunger,

Blood,

And decaying flesh.

Hurtling towards,

The man and

His wiggling bundle;

They circled

in,

jaws gnashing,

and hands snatching.

The bundle

gave out

a terrified cry.

Then there was,

Silence.
