Claque – Noun

“A group of persons hired to applaud an act or performer”

Brooke had the tan and the hair,

All of it fake.

The boys at school were always

Nipping at her heels

Like dogs on heat;

Her Channel pheromones

Pulling their testosterone chains.

Her claque paid solely

By her celebrity status,

A pack of mini clones.

Her words had punch,

A venom worse than snakes.

To me, a wobbly-kneed

Lean bean,

Absorbed in comics and TV;

She was a god

A ruthless and tyrannical god.
