“Free to go or travel about; not confined by responsibilities”
I’ve never been one for rules;
I was born two weeks before my due date,
I cheated my way through my L’s permit
And then crashed my mother’s car,
I kissed three boys in the one night,
I stole Mars bars on a Sunday
Using money from the church offering,
I seduced my lecturer to up my grades,
I squatted in an abandoned house
Until it became mine.
I do what I want,
I go where I want,
And all when I want
I am footloose and free.
